The sense of needing to stand out from the packaging crowd was ever present at this year’s Packaging Innovations at the NEC. That and the social aspect of ensuring that your packaging designs are environmentally sustainable, cost effect and eye-catching… Tough ask!

After several meetings with clients and senior figures within the industry we were free to explore and get to grips with the latest technologies and pressing issues within the packaging industry. The message was clear, the world that we belong to is a hive of activity and the requirement to stay ahead of the game and offer flexibility to your end clients is prominent as ever. With this, we were finding that there is a strong focus on managing and nurturing your current customers and less on the drive to top that up with new business. Not sure if this to prevent operating at a loss to entice new clients or a strategic shift in direction to really value what is already there.

The consensus from the industry leaders manning the stands of the corrugated, carton, rigid and label organisations was that there is a burning desire from clients to have the very best products sustainably manufactured at a reasonable cost. Nothing new there then…

Reflecting on the event, you can tell that the event was a huge success and it was a fantastic platform to network with industry professionals.
