Description
Print Production & Artwork Manager
West London £45,000–£50,000 Monday–Friday On-site
We’re working with a long-established specialist print business in Park Royal who are looking to appoint an experienced Print Production & Artwork Manager.
This is a senior, hands-on position for someone who has built their career within a print house and has strong working knowledge of print production, ideally both digital and litho.
You’ll work closely with the Operations Director and play a key role across the day-to-day running of jobs through the business. It’s a varied SME environment, so this isn’t a position where you’ll sit purely within artwork, account management or production – you’ll be involved throughout the process.
The Role
You’ll take responsibility for jobs from initial client brief through to finished product, including:
- Taking and interpreting client briefs
- Preparing quotations and job specifications
- Advising clients on print processes, stocks, materials, and finishing options
- Checking, amending, and preparing artwork for production
- Managing artwork and pre-press requirements
- Scheduling and prioritising jobs across litho and digital production
- Working closely with production and finishing to keep jobs on schedule
- Liaising directly with clients throughout the process
- Managing suppliers and outsourced requirements where necessary
- Monitoring costs, deadlines, and quality
- Troubleshooting artwork and production issues as they arise
What We’re Looking For
You must have previous experience working within a commercial print house/print production environment.
Unfortunately, experience managing print through external suppliers alone will not be sufficient for this position.
We’re particularly looking for:
- Working knowledge of print production, ideally both litho and digital print
- Experience managing jobs through pre-press, print, finishing, and dispatch
- Hands-on artwork/repro experience
- Strong Adobe Creative Suite skills, particularly InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
- Experience dealing directly with clients and interpreting print briefs
- Understanding of estimating, quotations, and the commercial considerations of print production
- Strong organisation and production scheduling skills
- The confidence to make decisions and solve problems in a busy print environment
- A proactive, hands-on approach suited to a smaller business where everyone gets involved
Experience within packaging, high-end commercial print, mock-ups, proofing, or specialist finishing would be particularly useful.
The Opportunity
This is a key appointment for the business rather than simply another production role.
They’re looking for someone who can become a trusted right hand to the senior leadership team, take real ownership of jobs and become an integral part of the operation longer term.
Salary is up to circa £50,000 depending on experience.
The position is based on-site in West London, Monday to Friday.
Hybrid/remote working is not offered for this position, and VISA sponsorship/relocation assistance is unavailable.
